Your thread is full of ass my friend. I like the Ps3 and all, but when you have to take shots at other consoles to make yours look good, it only shows your desperation for attention.



Oh.... and P.s.- There is no way in HELL that the Ps3 will touch the Wii in Japan or America. It's starting to favor the Wii more in Others. (Which is now Nintendo's best selling console in the region.)

Look at the history of console price reductions. Lets use PS2 for reference. Rember it came out when DVD players were still $400+

Launch 10/26/2000 = $300
1st 5/14/02 = $200 (1.5 yrs saw $100 off) making profit by now....
2nd 5/13/03 = $180 (1 yr saw meager $20 off)
3rd 5/11/04= $150 (1 yr saw another meager $30 off)
4th 5/06= $130 (1 yr saw final $20 off)

See the trend? PS3 made a huge $100 discount within the 1st year because they knew they had to as they were selling like crap. Now, they are selling respectively, lower than PS2 at the same time, yet overall better than the 360, so they are now focused on profits, they need them dearly. On top of that the biggest reductions in cost to manufacture are closer the the beginning, thus they dramatically reduced the cost to build the PS3 during the first year from removing additional hardware (PS2, connections, etc) to reduction in cost to manufacturer the bluray drives.

IF there is even a price reduction this year, it will be atmost $50, probably $30 if any at all. Instead of a price reduction they reduced themselves to one sku, a bump up from the 40g to an 80g that also has the DS3 controller. They know that being priced within $50-$80 of the 360's highest sold item, the premium, is all they need to maintain this acceptable sales trend.

Based on above for lowest priced skus...

PS3 launch 10/06 = $500
1st 7/07 = $400 (<1yr yrs for $100) Still not making profit here...

*****below is my estimations based on current sales expectations to stay similar where it is selling at a decent lead over the 360; and PS2 history where it took smaller cuts due to it being in a comfortable lead and the PS3 will have larger cuts since it is trying to take 2nd place before the end of this gen*****

2nd 4/09 = $330 (1.5 yrs for $70, now making profit)
3rd 4/10 = $280 (1yr for $50)
4th 4/11 = $230 (1yr for $50)
5th 4/12 closeout pricing = $180-$200 (1yr for final $30-$50) PS4 released and since PS3 is far from leader, Wii, it will die off in 2012/13, similar to how the Gamecube died off when Wii launched.

We've all made mistakes in the past. For the record, I've touted the PS2 a lot, and the PSP from time to time, and once I owned a PS3 which has Folklore, a hidden gem, imo. Trust me when I tell you that nothing I wrote in this thread was meant to defame a Sony console, but instead was meant as a reply to the topic creator.

By all means, when I make a thread discussing how the PS3 is a ripoff of the 360, flame me! Please, flame me to hell!

As for my ban history, we're getting off topic but I'll respond. I count a great many of the mods as my close personal friends. However, they are representatives of the community, which is by and large a fanboy community, here on VGChartz. By implication, that community might not always be a big fan of mine. In other words: Sometimes that community gets tired of my arrogant rants and decides to rise up and smite me. In those instances, the mods do as they are required, which I thank them for. I've rarely been banned when I didn't know it was coming, and made the conscious decision that the ban would be well worth it.

I've recently had a run-in with a few PS3 fanboys who have made me realize that yes, I've been a PS3 foeboy for far to long. I've decided to stop acting like that. I'm no longer a PS3 foeboy. However, that doesn't mean I'm now the systems number one fan. You might not find me touting the PS3's exclusive lineup, but you might find me attempting to no longer insult it, as I might have done in not so distant the past. If I did here, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.

Still, threads like this won't stand. As long as I'm a member here, they won't go unanswered, I don't care which console they pretend to raise the flag for. If you truely are a Sony fan, then you should watch with what company you throw your chips in with. There are good, consistant Sony fans on these forums that are worth defending. Look to them.

That's cool. Congrats. I agree with you about everything you said about the Wii in the OP. It's the main reason I'm not getting one ATM. And yes, Namco is no Atlus when it comes to RPGs. Hope they release some Megaten games on the HD consoles. You should've kept your 360 for a little while longer. Infinite Undiscovery looks very promising.

I think I need to start an argument with Zenfolder thread, so people can keep track of the people who've "made it" on vgchartz.

Hopefully he will oblige us with a few arguments, to help give a few newbies their wings.
