Forums - Gaming - Which version of the force unleashed are you going to get?

Only way I'm picking this up is if it gets average reviews higher then 8.7 or 87%. If it does it will be for wii.

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, MaxwellGT2000, but I thought a quick round up of the totals for each console would be appreciated. Feel free to chime in with corrections as necessary, folks.

I've preordered the Wii version. The DS version interests me, but not enough for me to buy it. I have no idea what the sales for each version will be like, but I'm guessing the Wii version's going to do well.

That's a good chart, though it's not TOO surprising given the fact that VGC does have a larger Wii owner base it seems, but honestly it's been one of those games to "show what next gen tech can do" and it's a little surprising to see that not every single 360 and PS3 owner has jumped on board.

While my OP does state me saying that the 360 version will sell more I mean that in the first week, I believe the Wii version will have longer legs then any other version and just like Guitar Hero 3 selling the best on 360 first then Wii ends up the best seller in the end I see the same for this game.

I don't see how motion controls could add to the game, and I only have 1 Wii-mote, so Duel mode means nothing to me if I'm fighting computer characters to death.

I'm at work so there is no way I can find it since I have no audio. There are some developer interviews about the game for both console variants. The Wii version has more intuitive easy to use input. Which has allowed them to stack up more force and sabre and move effects than the Euphoria/DMM older controler version. Some thing about moving, sabering and using force powers at once. If it hasn't been brought up by time I wake up or the thread going away I'll see if I can find it.

Personally I think some western developers are going to watch this and a few other games carefully. There arean't many straight full 3 way multi platform releases at the same time. This maybe one of the few deterministic games.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Going off installed user bases, I'd say it's most likely that the 360 version will end up selling the best.

But the time based tie-in with Clone Wars in theaters, which seems like it might generate more appeal among younger kids than the typical man-child Star Wars fan (no slight intended: been a fan of the franchise since the original), the Wii version may actually end up outperforming in the end.

Regardless, I'll have to wait for the initial reviews.

Worst case scenario, I'll end up skipping the game entirely if it ends up simply relying upon milking the franchise with only Jedi fantasy fulfillment, force based moves and abilities rather than standing well on its own as a game.

Best case scenario, I'll have to buy both the Wii version (assuming the motion controls are a unique improvement over pad controls, rather than tacked on, imprecise remote flailing controls) and either the 360 version or the PS3 version, depending on whether one version is deemed significantly better (or worse) than the other.

Wii version because of the Duel mode, plus that's my only console

The Wii version is practically the lead version of this game with all the bonus stuff it has.

Im leaning toward the PS3 version, but the Wii version could be interesting. My Xbot son might decide he wants it also. Hell, I might end up getting all 3.  *face in hands*
