Forums - Gaming - Silicon Knights & Sega - All new IP.

Now that Too Human has reached Gold-status. The team over at Silicon Knights is looking ahead. Dennis Dyack has stated in an interview that they want to continue creating new IP's within their company. This will be their primary goal at this moment. After Legacy of Kain, Eternal Darkness and Too Human, all totally different games, we can yet again expect something new out of the house of Silicon Knights. Their publisher (and co-developer?!?!?!) will be Sega! No platform confirmation however!... Although this looks rather promising for Wii, for Sega is one of the few 3rd-party developers that have succeeded in making good profits on the system and attempting to bring new promising IP's over to that platform (Mad World, Mario and Sonic etc...)

So, no platform announcements as of now. It could be X360, PS3, or both, or Wii... And the latest doesn't seem that far stretched! So keep your hopes up Wii-fans!

Dennis Dyack also states that (potential) fans of Too Human and ofcourse Eternal Darkness should not fear! Too Human's trilogy will be finished and works are already under way! As for Eternal Darkness, this is not the last you've seen of it, it seems!

What happened to this http://wii.ign.com/objects/142/14234960.html? A Psycological thriller for the Wii, PS3, 360, and PC.

This could very well be the one. Although IGN states that this title is in a test-fase and they are 'testing' which console(s) are suited best for the game... I honestly don't expect a multiplatform release in the sence of Wii/360/PS3 from a small company like Silicon Knights. They make such unique games, gimping them down (or upping the res for a HD-version) wouldn't do for their games, so either Wii-exclusive OR 360 and/or PS3.

Sega doesn't need a new IP, it needs to localize Sakura Taisen...

There is they don't localize and that is no one but otaku like me know what you are talking about and also the english dubbed anime series barely sold anything and that was years ago.Remember if the series have no fan base outside of japan they won't waste thier time localizing it.

I'm sure similar arguments are used (along with license ones) to prevent Super Robot Wars games from coming over too...

What is Sakura Taisen, and what is Super Robot Wars?

Sakura Taisen (also Sakura Wars) is a Japan-only sRPG from Sega.

Here's the intro for Sakura Taisen 3:

Super Robot Wars is another mostly Japan-only series sRPG from BanPresto.  The Original Generation games were localized to the GBA.  Here's the Original Generations trailer for the PS2:

if this is a wii exclusive sega may put themselves up there with capcom in terms of good support
