Forums - Gaming - Could FFI through XII fit on a single Blu Ray Disc?

It could be done but it would be a cold day in Hell before they ever actually did it.

Yeah, they enjoy milking them individually far too much.

Yep and I really wish they'd do that.  I'd gladly pay $150 for that blu-ray--Probably more.  I've talked about it many times, but I doubt they'd ever do it.

PSN ID: Sorrow880

Gamertag: Sorrow80

Wii #: 8132 1076 3416 7450

that would be awesome and i'd glady pay for it.

I'm going to say no, simply because everyone else is saying yes.

The Nes and Snes Final Fantasy's had batteries inside of the cartridge. Where would you put the battery on a Blu-ray disc?

Blu-ray=fail

You do know that FFIV, and VI were both ported to the PS right? Also they would probably use the remakes of FF! and FF2 instead of the originals. I don't think they would do it though because they like to milk them 5 times individually.

Yes. I knew.

I think it's possible to fit it all on a dual layer disk. I think it all won't be more than 30GB. But don't expect this to retail for less than 90$ US.... if it ever even happens [oh how I wish it would......]

4 ≈ One

Depends how good you were at stacking vertically :/ I suppose it's possible if your on a sturdy surface.

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

The latest blu ray discs can carry up too 500 gb, so yeah . You'd buy into something great btw, over a thousand hours of gameplay.

wow 500GB whoever told you that, smack them and tell them they need glasses. Unless of course you meant 50GB which is what it actually holds. No current disk format has a 500GB max capacity even listed as theoretical just yet. PCD(50TB) and Holographic Disks(4.9TB) have more than 500GB but they're not even available to market yet.

In the end I just feel like blu-ray is a step up from DVD and HD-DVD not really a true advancement I'm hoping these technologies make it to mass market...

FF1-12 could probably fit on a dual layers Blu-ray, maybe a single.

It's possible. I wonder how much something like this would cost.

Uh...lemme calculate it...assuming that we are talking about original versions (so FF 1-3 for NES, 4-6 on SNES etc):
FF 1 thru 6 could fit in N64 cart so that's not much.
FF VII was on 3 CD...let's say that's about 2 GB of data.
FF VIII and IX were on 4 CDs...2,5 GB each for simplicity so that's 5 GB.
FF X, X-2 and XII required 1 DVD each...let's say 3 GB avarage so that's 9 GB.
9GB+5GB+2GB+several MB=16GB with several MB
There's still more than enough room for FF XI (I dunno how much does it "weight", but I don't think it has more than 9 GB of data) and few other games like FFT.
