I think sackboy being such a blank, cute, and original character lends to a lot of great things, especially being a mascot.

its instantly recognizable, which is key. when you see a sackboy, you know its a sackboy.

it can be a draw to casuals/kids. it is a very welcoming character. this is the type of character you would want people to be talking about, not the kratos "kill everything in my way" character that would scare off some people. the people who would be scared off because of sackboy, would know more about the industry and thus would not be the focus of having sackboy as a mascot.

it is insanely versatile. sackboy fits everywhere. i would soon expect that sony would put sackboy as a skin in almost every game if they wanted to push him. and the thing is, sackboy could easily fit into them all (maybe change the skin, but its very possible). and with lbp, all the other games can get promotional levels from the devs. sackboy fits everywhere and anything fits sackboy.

FINALLY! Someone agrees with me when I call them creepy voodoo dolls as well! GAWD, the Sackboys and Sackgirls frighten me. I showed my sister what they looked like and she said that they are definitely disturbing looking, and have little appeal to anyone but emo people. Hell, Tim Burton's creations are more cute than these disturbing filth. I think children would be frighten by them. They need to look LESS GRITTY and more shiny if Sony is trying to appeal to the mass market.

Sony will bundle this game, it won't really matter how much it sells.

 

 


This game will never outsell MGS4 bundled. MGS4 is still more of a draw than this game.

Incase you don't know, draw doesn't matter when a game is bundled because you are given the game with the system purchase. There is only one PS3 sku in America and Europe, therefore any PS3 you buy will come with the game.

I can't think of any reason why this game won't be bundled eventually, Sony wants it to be their mascot, they want to make seperate franchises out of it, it just makes perfect sense.
