He personally doesnt prefer the PS3 to the 360 
and he is a very close friend who I trust dearly. He is in some 'freebie' thing where he refers people and gets the consoles for free. He says if I pay £15 extra I can get the 80GB. WTF should I do? Buy the 40GB, buy the 80GB (When it comes out) or not at all!!!!

I'd go for it if I were you. It seems like you don't have any PS2 games (or you just didn't add them to your games collection yet...), so backwards compatibility is not going to be a issue for you.

Yep I have a PS2 games and a lot, but the PS2 is connected to the upstairs TV, so it wont make a difference for me!!
