Forums - Gaming - Animal crossing, core, bridge or casual title?

those 3 categories are what nintendo uses to class its first party games, and as long as they get the balance right them im happy with that

for example this summer we had

core: brawl

bridge: Mario kart

casual: wii fit

know with animal crossing many people have said its simply 'casual crap'. but i really dont think this is right. just because its a simulation game doesn't mean its casual. it started on the N64 as animal forest and then brought onto gamecube in USA and PAL territories, partly as a result from petitions sent by core fans. The game recieved a 9.1 rating on ign. id class the wii verion as a bridge titles as new gamers brought onto the series by the DS can enjoy the game as well as those core fans who liked it on the gamecube. plus it lives up to its gamecude counter-part it could even be an AAA title.

what do you guys think?

In a mix bettween core and bridge.

Anyone who says it is casual probably can't get the house, gave up and whined about it.

@ untouch

exactly, nintendo releases one casual title in Q4 2008 and that aparently means they sold us out

A bridge game definitely. Anyone can play and enjoy this game regardless of gaming demographic. If its as good as WW then it will be a triple A title.

It's definitely a bridge game. 'Bridge' simply means it can be highly enjoyed by all flavours of gamer, and has a little more substance than something like Wii Sports.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
