But I question the rest of you who name companies like Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft. I hope you realize that the games industry would take a huge hit if any of the three left. Many quality first party titles would disappear. Of course, some people feel like being immature fanboys and simple reasoning won't stop that. If a company like Capcom left, no one would really care. Sure we'd lose a couple decent game series, but there would be almost no negative impact on the market at all. |
Fanboys that want to see one of the big competitors destroyed don't realize they need to be careful in what they wish for.
I would like to see Square-Enix split back into their respective companies (Squaresoft and Enix), but in no way would I want any of their franchises to actually go.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
