Forums - Gaming - Capcom has an ambition to make MH as popular in the West as it is in Japan

i'm sorry you don't know how to read an argument. myabe you should learn to read?
anyone can see that mh has a CORRESPONDING audience with ps3/360 (point number 2) in hardcore gaming, and that you are a nintendo fanboy (point #1), and that, the game is already so small in comparison to other things (point 3) that nobody is jealous.
this together shows that you said i was jealous of a "lesser known game" for some reason, despite that i could play the game whenever i want because, i dunno, i have friends,... and you said it as some kind of insult, as if Wii was a god, which i'm sure you think it is.
all hail the white idol rofl.

Anyway on topic, Monster Hunter WILL NEVER be as popular in the West as it is in Japan. Monster Hunter is a hit over there because it caters to that market (button mashing, really cool attacks with very little input by user, creative monster designs etc) where as western markets prefer different things.

It's the same reason why Dynasty Warriors and anything Gundam is loved over there and loathed here, it's designed for that market and it sells there. Same as why Halo sells well in the West but not in japan, it's just not their type of game.

lol, you don't even say how old you are in your profile. it is 4am here on saturday, i am definately drubnk.

but thank you for furthering m point of how he is a dumbass fanboy pointing the fanboy flag at others/ and also how  MH won't be popular here.

Wait, do people have to be drunk on a Saturday night or what if not? What does not being drunk on a Saturday night make you?

Also, drinking on your own (seeing that you are at home sitting in front of your computer) doesn't make you cool.

Lastly, it's sad you had to resort to personal insults when you ran out of invalid points.

Edit: This argument ends here.

@theprof00: Jealousy is killing you right?

i could leave you in pieces right now or just let you go.

if i chose to argue with you, maybe 5 people would see it, but you would look like an idiot to them, i don't think you are worth that exertion now that the thread is dead.

EDIT: in my original thread i meant to say hardcore on hardcore platforms, not core on core

Oh is that so? Give it a try tough man, more action and less words please.

Btw you meant post not thread right? You started with your left foot buddy.

lol i'm pretty drunk, so forgive the "thread" thing, lol, that's pretty funny.

maybe i'll just start with a list because it will be easier... hic...

1. you are a Nintendork, and upset that i said nintendo wasn't "core". which already is wrong (and makes no sense*) because i meant to say hardcore, which i edited later with a large "EDIT" marking. SO you weren't responding to my mis-speak, but to the fact that nintendo isn't "core" (hardcore). Which, already, is like a kid getting upset because i said his mom didn't have muscles. this fearless defense of the wii, on such a strange accusation already proves that you are a fanboy nublet, and i will back it up with these facts:

I'm actually upset about a grown up man like you talking shit and backing it up with anecdotal evidence.

Nintendork and fanboy nublet aren't words I would expect from a rational and mature person when trying to make a point.

Besides what's your point here?

ummmmm maybe that your a ninty fanboy>>>?? i dunno, backing up things that don't make sense in the first place, getting defensive... take your pick

a) you are proud of 1,000th post on a brawl thread.

Incorrect, it's the 10,000th post, and what's wrong about getting something unique in a forum? How does relate to me being a Nintendo nerd like you claim?

oh my, am i incorrect, are you sure? was my statement "negative"? maybe you just don't understand. hitting 10000th means you are more than just lucky.

b) your avatar is of the master sword

Again, it's just a picture I chose randomly after a google search and I've had more avatars before. Stupid point.

LOL! slow clap deserved here ^ :a picture i chose randomly" rofl rofl rofl

c) your faves indicate you grew up with the snes, given your liking of several snes "cult status" games.

Not at all, there's SNES, N64, GC and PC games among my favorite games. That doesnt mean I didnt enjoy my PS1 games. Everyone has it's favourite games, and surprise mines are not all Nintendo games. You're just talking crap here.

you are really stupid aren't you. did you even read what i wrote? i said cult status games doosh. you obviously grew up with a nintendo console as your main. just like i did. only children develop a good deep library of a console. otherwise it is just all the best selling games from all consoles. all of this obviously proves you are a ninty fan. i dunno what's so hard to see.

2. you disagree with me about the wii being "core" enough for MH.(terminology already discussed).... Trust me, the people that play the Wii, and the people that play games like MH are different people. Here are these facts:

Retarded anecdotal biased evidence shall not be taken as proof in a serious debate.

Umm, it's not an anecdote? and it's true? mh is a hardcore game, and wii gamers (the majority) are not. I think that what you are getting confused about my point here is that "if you own a 360/ps3, you pretty much are a harcorsse gamer. if you own a wii, you arn't necessarily..." mh is hardcore, obviously 360/ps3 combo is a larger target audience.

a) anybody with half a right mind that also owns a Wii. Mainstream-ly speaking, people that play the Wii for less than an hour a day < the people who play games like zelda, galaxy > people who play japanese style games like pokemon battle rev > the people who play classic games with the appeal of sonic, in sonic riders. >the people who play people who play games like MH, a game that warrants a purchase if

Where do you take this statistics from? Just made up guesses taken out of your rear.

well mh has not broken 630k on any console, so that right there is already close to less than "sonic riders" which was a greta game *sarcasm* i am partly making those numbers up, but if you think logically, i mean you really try, and not just say you are while trying to 'beat' me in a point, you will realize that if you ask 100 casual gamers what MH is, maybe one or two will know what you are talking about.

i) you already know what it is

I just know about the basic concept

BUT YOU KNOW THE NAME. STOP BEING STUBBORN lol

im disagreeing!!! blah blah blah!!!!

ii) you like japanese style games, and have a willingness to explore new games (given americas manga market does not seem to be a strong trend)

I don't buy games because of the manga or whatever, I just buy games that seem enjoyable to me. I can play a western RPG or an Eastern RPG without any problem.

sigh.... need water..... mh.... is ..... a ..japa...nese... game... you looked.... for .... a game.....and happened..... to find.,..one....which... is... not....how ....the...majority.........of buy...ers.....buy

iii) you like games with a background, to the order of something like sonic, whom people remember from childhood.

Point here?

my point is that you like games that have previous games, ou found a game franchise , and stuck to it. which already differentiates from the wii audience. the best example mario. less than half play a true "mario" game. i'm just saying that games are a pie. when you start chopping up the pie in pieces you really see how small of a game mh is, and how small of a section "repeat" games are. after halos, and marios, there's not much room for mh's

iv) you have a friend that introduces you to hardcore games

Not my case, I introduced myself to it.

like i said you looked for a game and found it. you are one in a hundred, even at one in ten, it doesn't sell that much.........

b) you can see already that 2a) =/= casual gamer due to the fact that the closest thing to a hardcore game in the top selling wii games is zelda:TP. and at 4.76 m sold, you are going up against a legendary title vs. a relatively unknown game.

Unknown game in the Americas, and equally unknown to any American. Wii owners are not the exception. This further supports your biased views.,

all my views are supported, until you really really try to be pigheaded about things

3. nobody is jealous of monster hunter coming out on the wii. Sure it would be a nice addition, but not worth sending even a giftbag to their company. it is a good game, for sure, but it isn't anywhere near the "best" game, or even the "best selling" or "console selling" games. I myself was addicted to my friends psp version, but even then, there are pc games, movies, friends, school, oendan, i mean c'mon....

How do you know how this game is? No one knows how MH3 will actually be... Will it be a step in another direction for the series? Will it be more Western oriented like Capcom themselves claimed? You be it will.

Btw MHP2g is actually the best selling game so far this year in Japan, so talk about ignoring the facts.

wow and it's for psp, which is like the opposite of the wii.

this was fun and i could say a lot more, but my buzz is coming down, and now i don't even know why i wasted my time on you, that was too easy. i'm gunna go have some more beers and be happy that i "proved some kid on the internet wrong"......... i'm so lame......

You ran out of badly formatted arguments so soon? I expected better from a tough guy.You sounded like the Data Design of arguing, exceptinally lame.

You know what go drink a couple more beers so you can forget you got self-owned here.

lol lol lol

but you're so wrong lol

No I'm not.

lol lol lol

btw: if it is 4am, and you are not either drunk or getting drunk, and you are online talking cmakc to people, then i feel sorry for you. and if you do not have some kind of rediculous pride problem, you will know what i;m talking about.

If Americans don't like button mashing, what do they like?

Shooters, Racers, Sports, BBQ, donuts, TV, Daily Life Simulations (Nintendogs), and Mario games.
