DVD Box Set Confirms Prison Break Game

An advertisement in the recently released season DVD box set for the Fox television series Prison Break confirms that there is indeed a game based on the show coming out in February for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Brash Entertainment, known for their movie adaptations like Jumper and Alvin and the Chipmunks, are working on the title. Kotaku first learned about the possibility of a Prison Break game during an interview last November with Robert Knepper, who plays T-Bag on the series.

"I don't think it's quite done, but I heard that on the wind last year that they were trying to do it," said Knepper. "You know the whole thing with an escape, they were working on a videogame where you plot your own escape from prison."

I've always said something like this could be really interesting, lets just hope this isn't a shitty license.

Just think of the experience you could have:

• Open world but contained (personally I really like that)
• Different factions (guards, various gangs/groups)
• Quest based with one major quest

I don't know, I've just always really liked the idea of a game based on this show since I saw the first episode.

I don't really watch the show much, but I don't see how it can be called "Prison Break" after a couple of seasons which show very little prison-breaking.

Anyway, I'm not expecting anything out of this game. It might get a little controversial, though, what with kids playing GTAIV, going on a killing spree and landing themselves in prison, upon which they can break out thanks to this game.

I have never seen the show, but you always have to be wary of adaptation of films and movies of course. Assume the worst always

• Season 1 - Break out of Fox Rivers (American jail)
• Season 2 - On the run
• Season 3 - Break out of Sona (Panama prison)
• Season 4 - Revenge?

There's some silly conspiracy company story that ties everything together but it really isn't nearly as interesting as the stuff that goes on in the prison parts of the show.

They should make a good 24 game instead. That series should have an incredible game made, but the one they made was only average

I think if they model it right after the show and try to make it just fit into the universe like they did with Lost: Via Domus it will be absolute crap but if they just use the idea of the show I think it could be great.

Sadly though I'm thinking they won't pass up pimping their stars and using the first option.

What, so you think they should make a game that does not feel as though you are playing through a series? I think as it is so action packed it could work well, if the story was well written. Lost Via Domus was just rubbish because of so many things, even little things like that it did not have the voice, and a Lost game was never going to work
