What are your primary uses?

15.4'' may not be too portable.

12.1 or 13.3 would probably be better if you carry it around a lot.

Also, RAM should not be anything less than 2G nowadays.

good, save energy and they are expandable these days, more ram etc is what u will need.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Far Cry, PES 6, Fable, Trackmania Nations United (Free), Civilization 4, Heroes of Might and Magic V (or III), Sim City 4, Top Spin... The list is long (and cheap)
SNES and N64 emulators with two pads
SCUMMVM with old LucasArts games: Curse of monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle...

I suggest you check reviews for games 80%+ released between 2003-2006
