Forums - Gaming - Don't Companys Know when their making a boring or a dull game?

So many reasons...

Mainly, deadlines and self evaluation.

It's hard to see you're own errors.

It's hard to see they're own errors... Their going to need to get more outside influence.

I like you're title by the way.

What i don't understand is why Don't Companys Know when their making a boring game?

Don't they play it before marketing it?

It all depends on their budget and the existing demand for the type of product they are putting out. If they have publishing by Microsoft or Sony or even Nintendo they could go all out with the concept that they are going for. Otherwise, its a shot in the dark.

Could it be that what is boring to some, can be exciting for others?
I think a simple virtual chess game is boring, no matter how much love and time the developer stuck into it.
Likewise, my neighbour might be freaking out with the prospect of playing it..

what is boring and bad to you, might fall into a whole new demographic.
