Forums - Gaming - Why do PS3 and 360 owners always fight?

Yes, a lot of fighting. I wasn't aware of all this rivalry between vivid Playstation and XBox supporters until I started talking about the PS3's Cell processor and the potential of Blu-Ray disc on some forums.

I never really followed the PSX and PS2 or most other recent consoles, so it was quite a surprise (although I was aware of the cheaper Atari ST vs better specced Amiga wars from the distant past). Having been a PC gamer for many years it caught me off-guard. So many false claims and exaggerations were being outed especially against the PS3 early on.

I think some things fueled the war, for some reason especially the US media took much of the lead. Some particularly controversial topics seems to relate to 360 hardware issues, PS2 dominance the previous console generation, PS3 entry pricing, HDDVD vs Blu-Ray, some impressive PS3 exclusives as well as some weak early 360 to PS3 ports.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Around the Network

As an owner of the big three, I'm torn between hating and loving myself. Usually, I end up loving myself (with a bottle of hand lotion), and hating myself afterwards. DAMN YOU CONSOLE WARS!!!

Here's my take:

PS3 owners are the loudest and stupidest.
360 owners are the most narrow-minded and intolerant.
Wii owners are the whiniest and most annoying.

In short, everyone sucks.

Bingo.

Now is everyone's bloodlust over with yet?

...

Thought not.

Its what console owners do. Its just the way things are.
