OH MY GOD

I don't care about Transformers at all...I never watched the cartoon...I only know basics like Optimus Prime, Megatron, Autobots and Decepticons. That's all I knew.

I saw the movie today...and it was AMAZING. Basically, the CGI is the best I've ever seen.

ditto. never seen the series or the animated movie(s?).... great movie, just got back from it!

I have been waiting for this movie since I was 10. That was the year that the animated Transformer movie came out and I lost one of my childhood heroes. It's good to see Prime up and running again.

You do realize they brought him back right?

@legend: Agreed re: the girl.

Did anyone else find it REALLY creepy at the end when all the autobots were just watching the two humans make out? Cause I did.

Also, most of the jokes totally ruined the scene for me, but one I really liked, when there was a power outage and the father says "Look, the transformer is down over there. We should call someone". That line made me laugh at its cheesiness for the rest of the movie.

LOL i thought the same thing too!

The movie got lukewarm reviews. I might rent it. Obviously you're all welcome to your own opinions, but I'm really tired of "pretty good" action movies :/

I did just see "The Lives of Others," however, which I enjoyed thorougly.

Man this movie is far from "pretty good" this is one of the best movies I've ever seen, you have to go see this it's a fantastic movie.

I dunno about that...What I DO know is that every single time there was a robot on screen i did not resent my purchase of a ticket.  (when there was not one on scene is a different matter....)

Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.

"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings"

"One shall stand, one shall fall"

Total Geekgasm.

"Stop lubricating that human!"

LOL.

I really liked the movie, although MB again emphasises to much on the Army and the Humans. Frenzy was a total comic relief, thank god they didn't place Soundwave at his place. BTW i went home with a free Barricade figure from the screening (The police car) COOL!

Movie was a dissapointment.

- Poor Pacing
- Spent too much time focusing on sub plots and not the actual plot
- Spent too much damn time in the house trying to find the glasses
- And the introduction to the Autobots and their personalities was an awkward and hand fisted series of cliches and gag humor.
- Frenzy was over played.
- Never exlained why the All Spark only ever turned machines into lifeforms that wanted to kill humans.
- The designs for the transformers were too busy and hard for the eye to lock onto. That combined with forced blurr in the fight scenes and you are left not even knowing what's going on until one robot walks away from the battle at the end.
- The failure to even try to adhere to the orginal archetypes of the transformer characters made even giving them the same names a frustration exercise of comparison from what the original was to what Michael Bay says it is now.
- Would it have killed them to name the Kid Spike to go along with the original as well?
- And why did they essentially just turn Bumblebee into E.T. as a character? Bumblebee was a fucking robot E.T. in this movie. Fuck you Speilberg!

Michael Bay does wonderful action sequences but can't handle human drama, so we end up with long drawn out overly dramatic scenes that don't progress the story or benefit the viewer's enjoyment. Spielberg added his own flavor of shmaltzy corniness to the mix as well.

I wasn't expecting it to be great but I wasn't expecting it to hurt me this much. Just another icon from the 80s exploited for the sake of a quick buck.

I did like Megatron though, too bad he's dead now. Starscream survived, pity he's nothing like the original, not that we would know given how little dialogue was built up between the decepticons.

The movie ultimately felt overworked in the areas that didn't matter and underworked in the areas that drew people to see the movie. It's just one of those movies that leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth and is an aching pain in theside of anyone who was ever a fan of the original fandom.

Take Michael bay's limited directing skills, combine them with speilberg's atrophying producer and directing skills and make the movie appeal as much as possible to kids and teenagers and you get this. Why does hollywood have to rape everything that was ever dear to me in my childhood?

You know G, Transformers a a series never toke it self very seriously, so fans of the original can't really expect anything else than a cheese-a-thon. Consider this: The movie had fan-favorites, was very impresive technically and is going to revive transformers as a franchise and re-introduce them to the new generation. It's not all bad then.  But a tranformer fan as a director would do much better for the sequels. MB is just too U.S army-horny.

Best movie ever.

every dude needs to see it, really not a flick for chicks.

Megan Fox was hot (she has a great set of uh... eyes!) , and so was the blonde Australian Chick.

The movie itself was good, lots of humor and violence at the end to satisfy the young male demographic.

But storyline wise, it felt like something I've seen a million times before:

Awkward Teenager struggling to get greater freedom (and to get the hot chick). The Hot Chick hangs out with the teenager after she has a fight with the mean jock.

Teenager is forced into a situation where he has to save his family/girl/planet and learns to be brave and heroic by the time the movie peaks. He gets the girl at the end and everybody is happy.

It seemed like the robots were a side story compared to the human drama.

Also, why is it that there's a robot named Jazz, speaks like he's black, breakdances, and transforms into a dark colored car?

Spoiler Alert:

Then he dies at the end?!?! And he's the only autobot who does die

Why is it that the black guy always dies? Even if he's a robot?
