if you're getting that figure from vgchartz data you should read the part that says....

Note: Only certain data for certain consoles currently exists on the database. For "America" and "Others" data currently only goes back to the PS2 launch so sales for systems such as N64, PS, DC, SNES will only include Japanese data at this time.
