So praising the Xbox360 you forgot to mention Summer of Arcade. The recent Arcade games are by far the best thing that could ever happen to a gamer. Braid, Geometry Wars2, Banjo 1 + 2, Castle Crashers and Portal coming to the Xbox360 is awesome. And the new Dashoard will be great, too.

Oooo! I feel so dirty now.

How could I not mention those games?!?!

me personally i prefer the ps3 line up and i think that anyone who buys the ps3 at the moment is a complete douche with the new improved sku coming out very soon.

the ps'3 sales are expected to fall before such a change takes place

Tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk.

I never mentioned the PS3 in the OP so why the comparison?

true you never mentioned the ps3, but however i am sure this never would have been created if it wasnt fir the ps3 poor performance at the moment to the 360's sales.

Aside from the massive assumption you've made here you're also off-topic.  A quick review of the OP should make it apparent that the thread is for discussing whether or not its a great time for the 360. Stay on topic or don't post in the thread, its really quite simple.

I do agree it is a great time to own a 360. There a lot of games that I want coming later this year.

I think you define something by what is mostly is.  For example, Metal Gear Solid 4 is much more movie than game, and therefore calling it a movie wouldn't be inaccurate.  If you played it as much as you watched it, maybe then his post would have been inaccurate.

I blame Wii Fit.

OT: I think MS can delay Sonydomination for a while. It matters lil to me but watching the Giant get own3d is great for theater.

Anyhow, all I need now is for MS to let me use my G25 wheel on my 360. Sweetness!

And I <3 ME. One of the best games I have ever played - though I wanna trigger the menage scene.

Mass Effect 2 is gonna rock my world. Its not a flawless game but hell if they can implement everything thats great in numero uno and fix a few of the things that were bad its gonna make one Generation defining game.

I still haven't quite finished the first game (going to complete LO first) but it is incredibly awesome. In the next game I really hope that they sort out the framerate, and add some variety to the locations of all the sidequests (+ I wouldn't mind if there was some space ship piloting stuff)

Interesting points. For me, Munkeh, I could care less about framerates and variety and more about gameplay. You can have a turd as a game, but if the gameplay is awesome, I'm forgiving. I got tired of it locking up sometime - and my 360 scratched my review copy - but that was after like 11 straight hours of playing it. That game was HOT. Seriously, I look at all of it and say wow. It's like GTA - I love the open sandbox. I hate linear games. In ME, you can jet around the entire galaxy and still come back and have a blast. And oh, the mission on the Moon was the bomb for me. I can't tell you how long I just stared at Earth. Is it perfect? No. But name another game recently that combines RPG elements, real-time combat, a story that can change based on your actions, the option to intimidate folks, powerups and real strategy. Man, the warts and all can't stop me if the game totally rocks.

I'm not saying that framerate is more important than gameplay, its just the gameplay is so good that they need to concentrate on technical aspects rather than the gameplay because that only needs tweaking. I would like to actually go to the earth as well, even if just for a little bit. Personally I either like a completely linear game (a la Call of Duty or Uncharted) where it is completely focuses on a single thread of story if you like, whereas in Mass Effect there is more depth in the story (which I think is awesome (all the codex stuff) and all the sidequests) but I do feel it can be a little overwhelming with so much to explore. My guide does help, but I do still find it quite confusing.

Sales are up/Prices are down.

Its great to see the Xbox360 starting to pull some decent numbers world wide, and we haven't even started the Pre Christmas sales acceleration. Currently the Xbox360 is selling at 150k per week, but as the new games come out and the sales pick up from the price cut we should see over 200k sales per week in the weeks leading up to the Holiday season.

Awesome games are coming out.

Exclusive games like Fable 2, Banjo, GOW 2,  Last Remnant, Infinate Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia and all the multiplats like Mirrors Edge, Left 4 Dead, Farcry 2, Mercenaries 2, Dead Space, Call of Duty 5, Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, and Sacred 2.

If I played everything that interested me on the Xbox360 I wouldn't have time for any other systems. In fact I probably don't need any other systems with this kind of games lineup.

Awesome games are already here.

Halo 3 - I play you every week with my friends... No other multiplayer shooters get me coming week after week. I never played Goldeneye but I think its a similar effect.

Gears of War 1 - I play this one with my friends as well, too bad its only got 2 player local multiplayer. Its also a lot of fun and its very personal with friends. I just wish I had fewer friends so I can play this more! :P

Mass Effect - Warts and all this game has had me play through 3 1/2 times already. I just love the Combat/Dialogue and Story. It never gets old for me.

Forza Motorsport 2 - I just play this game, its an awesome way to kill time, just pick up and race for 10-30mins and put back down. I find race games bore me with time, but theres plenty of variety/quality in this game to keep me coming back for more.

Edit: Lets not forget about the 14 90+ games available on the Xbox360. Lets take a moments silence and pray for their awesomeness.

If Tales of vesperia was the only JRPG to ever come out for the 360, I would still agree with you. And J/WRPGs are my favorite genre.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Thnak you microsoft for creating the best console this generation today with a built in hdmi and incredible online service. the games is where the 360 shines. All AAA exclusives. too many amazing games are coming out this year for the 360 and i don't have that much money. I shoud have bought a Wii instead :(
