In the last 20 years we have gone from Mario to Mario Galaxy. The rate at PC power is growing faster now than it was back then as well so I highly doubt it will take more than 10 more years.
As to the Crysis games, no the hardcore computer people don't have to pirate it. The game just plain sucked and that's the reason it sold so badly.
