The only way it will still be around in 15 years is as a cheap blu ray player alternative that has limited GAMING (Edited) capabilities...

4D gaming plays by its own rules and the future has already been proven in favor of the PS3.
Its trending fairly similarly to NES so it could maybe 60m in 10 years and then 5m in the next 5 years...
More likely though it will do 35m in its peak three years (08'-10') and then the 06', 07', 11', 12', 13' numbers will be bring it to 65m or so.
Only reason it could last 15 years would be if Sony delayed PS4 until like 2016. I think PS4 comes out in late 11'/early 12' though.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!
It will overlap, all of thier generations have so far.
I think 15 years is horribly optomistic, however.
