IGN gave it an 8.8 (The important versions)

Around the Network

I buy one, possibly two Madden games for a console in it's lifetime. I never understand the point of paying full price for a game that slightly updates the roster and some new plays and animations. Face it, the game stays mostly the same.

Would anyone buy any other type of game every year that kept the same levels, same characters, weapons, story and just about everything else? I doubt it. In my opinion, Madden should be a value game if it's going to be released every year. And I'm not just talking about Madden but most, if not all sports games released on an annual basis.

However, I haven't bought a Madden game this generation so I might pick this up since it sounds good so far.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

which are the important versions?

IGN gave the wii version a 8.6 which is pretty good and say everything has improved from the awful 08 version of the wii.

duh, it is the Wii version

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

The 360 and PS3 versions.  Because many people who own those consoles only play Madden and NCAA. (05,06,07,08=4*2=attach rate)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Will the development time being less that 1 year, and EA owning all the rights, a diffinative NFL sports game may never come around again.

Regardless, these thinks make big $$$ each year for every console. While I agree it is a roster update will little polish, they are still a blast to play with friends online and one of the biggest titles, each and every year! So obviously the want is still there, and always will be.

Too bad we cant see the old 2K NFL Games.

Ugh, the IGN review made me wanna puke... now I'm not buying any version.

"Madden 09 could easily be swept under the rug by the casual onlooker as being, “just another release.” And, for the most part, it is, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of your cash."

They don't explain why it is worth it at all except for saying it is more accessible.

If I need to be convinced to buy it again, then why would I need it to be more accessible?

Thats true, but I'd not discredit the Wii version, as apparently there are some major new things added into a game, like the drawing of the routes on the fly, which is pretty badass if you think about it. I also think it was foolish to release the game so soon after NCAA 09.
