Forums - PC Discussion - Nvidia To Release Free GeForce Experience Pack

http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=19761

Graphics chip manufacturer Nvidia announced that it will release online its first free GeForce Experience Pack, which will showcase content from the company's physics engine middleware PhysX, on August 12th, 2008.

The pack will feature NetDevil's Warmonger (pictured), a complete action game allowing players to use destructive powers to destroy walls, floors, and whole buildings to open new paths or close existing ones.

Unreal Tournament 3 PhysX Mod Pack, a collection of three maps with added effects designed to "fundamentally change" the game's mechanics, will be included as well, though users will need a commercial copy of Unreal Tournament 3 to play the maps.

The GeForce Experience Pack will also include a preview a Nvidia tech demo The Great Kulu, which demonstrates the use of PhysX soft bodies; Nvidia tech demo Fluid, a simulation of fluid effects with a variety of liquids; a preview of Nurien, a social networking service utilizing Unreal Engine 3; and a preview Object Software Limited's MMO FPS Metal Knight Zero.

Along with the GeForce Experience Pack, Nvidia will release new WHQL-certified drivers enabling PhysX acceleration for all GeForce 8, 9, and GTX 200 Series GPUs. The new drivers also add support for PhysX features in Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.

So all of you with the relatively recent NVidia cards can get yourselves a free game this Tuesday courtesy of NVidia, and an expansion pack to UT3 (if you already own it). Just thought I'd let those of you who didn't know this in on the news.

Wow, nVidia is really having a hard time pushing up physics...

By me:

I really hate Nvidia's drivers, they have horrible video support, the video setting adjustments are really buggy to the point where i had to revert my drivers.
