Since this board is for any other discussion it is the perfect place to talk about a topic of actual importance. What are you doing in life to prepare yourself for the afterlife?
I ask that question because I have a personal relationship with God. I believe Jesus Christ was telling the truth when He said He was the only way to heaven. I admit that is quite a strong claim for someone to make. He backed up His claim by being raised from the dead.
Talking to God, and listening has been the best thing to ever happen to/for me. It has been awesome to be freed from bondage to worthless waste of time things that used to consume my life. God has shown me what true happiness and contentment is all about.
I have been a gamer since I was a child. I used to obsess about whatever "cool" new game that was coming out. I used to spend countless hours enslaved to this game or that game. God freed me from that slavery. I still game, now I can put a game down and go do something of actual real importance. I spend more time with my family and just love getting to do stuff with them. I have a garden, and can enjoy the wonders of Creation. I have gotten to show my kids things like hummingbirds, jackrabbits, frogs, dragon flies and discuss how they locomote. We go out fishing and that has been a great family experience.
I realized that nothing I ever did would be enough to wipe out the bad I had done in my life, and there were some big time mistakes I made. It call came down to accepting the gift that Jesus Christ offers to each and every one of us. It was a major transforming experience in my life, and I love to share it. The gift is available to anyone willing to accept it.
