Meanwhile Microsoft is coming up with non-gimmicky games like You're in the Movies.
I think its more like I don't have time to use it everyday, since after a day's work I won't even want to play anything but sleep. My wiifit seems to be used my my grandparents more since they got to sit around whole day at home.

Just to show how wrong they think Nintendo is.
I love how people mention but do not cite research.
That being said, remember a lot of people join a gym for a year, paying in advance. Then they go for a month or so and fall away from the practice, often not to return .
So it is not surprising that some Wii Fit users are not regular Wii Fit users. But to be honest, how many games are still being played reguarly a few months after their release? (Short answer: very few).
It all comes down to what is next for the Balance Board if it will go down as a long-term success (instead of just a money-maker). But if you are Nintendo, at least it is the latter, which is more than other companies can say about their hardware.

Most people use things intended for exercise once and never use it again.
Pixel Art can be fun.
First off, I doubt the 60% figure because if the ratio was that high I suspect that you'd see a lot more used Wii Fit games show up on craigslist or ebay; beyond that, if such a high portion of people gave up so quickly I'm pretty sure word-of-mouth would have gotten around and Wii Fits sales would have suffered.
Now, I suspect there are quite a few people who give up within a month because Wii Fit is too hard or too easy for them, it lacks variety in excercises they're looking for, its user interface is not as well suited to their workouts as they would like, it was a lot different than they were expecting, or they're really not motivated to excercise. Some of these things are a perfect opportunity for third party publishers to step up to the plate ...
You can make excercises more customizeable, allowing for true beginners and fitness experts to both take advantage of your software; you can "Steal" the RockBand/Guitar Hero business model and sell excercise packs which creates endless variety; and you can fix the user interface and allow users to create their own workout curcits which (greatly) reduces the ammount of time it takes to get a large play time.

lol. I agree 100%. In fact I agree so much that I agree 200%.
