That would bring both, the Wii and 360, right in line with NPD numbers after detucting the 10 %, but the PS3 would still be about 4m higher than NPD after removing sales of bundles as well. So the PS3 software total is the only one being off.

Yeah, I noticed that after I posted.  I took off the 10% for PS3 and X360 but just completely forgot about it for Wii.   Spot on then aside from PS3 software being 5 million above NPD.

And Crazzy, 279 games have launched on Wii. Total sales are ~ 225M

So roughly 800K is normal on Wii

 

Ps3 has 172 games and ~ 90M sales.

That's an average of 520K sales.

 

 

That's because on ps3 games with "party" in the name don't automatically sell 1m copies

November 2006 through May 2008 (assuming they consider launch month a month) for Wii sales, are roughly 55M for Wii, according to this graph, and NPD.

According to VGC, it is at 73M. It includes Wii Sports, so overall, 61M for NA. That's totally fair.

 

November 2006 through May 2008 Ps3 sales, are 22M according to NPD.

VGChartz has it at 30.8M. Ps3 is also the worst selling in the rest of NA, it's actually at ~ 7%. Sure, Restisance and Motorstorm have been bundled, but they are at just 2.7M. All weren't bundles, so ~ 29M subtracting this.

 

November 2005 through May 2007 for X360 is said to be lacking at VGC. Is it really?

NPD has it at ~ 33M

VGChartz has it at 36.6M. This is before any major bundles really came. This pretty much means we're spot on, if we subtract the rest of NA.

 

So my question is: What am I missing? Both conserning Ps3, which we apparently overtracked by < 20%, and conserning that we have spot on for X360.

 

You're not missing anything...talk to the 360 fanboys...we came to terms with this a long time ago lol.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Joke, yes?   You do know that 2nd party titles get published by the 1st party company and are therefore included as 1st party sales, don't you?  Of course you did.  You were just joking.

Great... Another one. Seriously, VGC has lost its standard as one of the highest % of Wii owners. Ps3 owners are now roughly equal.

 

Okay, but still.

There are 5 released 3rd party titles on Wii with the name "party" in it. Theytotal 19.9M, or 400K each, less than half of the game's sales.

a lot of fanboys are trying to bring an excuse about why wii sw sales are giant and ps3 sw sales are abysmal, but they cant find a good one yet :/

Crazzy's mom bought him an Xbox 360. We both promised to keep it a secret from him.


The Ps3 will sell 150 mil.


Sony fanboys are in the final Wii stage: Acceptence. (while a couple, like Million, are still bitching.)


Overall, very fun 2nd day back to the site after my California trip for me.


p.s.- To all the fanboys saying Wii 3rd parties don't sell, remember, it's still beating the Ps3. And, honestly, I don't take install base into account, I take time into account. The only place where Ps3 isn't older than Wii is the Others region.
