I was considering going the PSWii route for a while, but after playing the Wii a few times and not seeing it past being a social trend at this point in time, I have not been as impressed with the system as most people are. I will still get the Wii at some point in time, but not for a little while until probably Mario Kart makes its way. I have every other Nintendo System that's been brought to the Market. I started with my NES in 1987.
I'm loving my PS3 and actually got me back into gaming much more now. But now that Mistwalker came aboard (big Sakaguchi / Uematsu fan), I'm going to have to have both systems. When I saw the Eternal Sonata trailer, I was finally sold on going the PS360 route.
But let me tell you, I really do not like M$ much at all. I'm very familiar with the ME days and I think those days will be returning with Vista. When they first came out with the Xbox, they didn't go past the Shooter / Racing / Sports game genre too far. I've always thought the market for the Xbox was for all the Americans who thought they were too cool for video games. It was the good system for jocks, frat boys, etc. So when 360 came around, I was expecting the same which it has been for the first 1.5 years the system was here.
But now I see they are expanding to other genres with some games I really want badly. Although I hate supporting M$, I'm getting my 360 at Target next week with Forza 2. I'll get the 3 year service plan so they can just re-imburse me when it dies and avoid M$.
So yeah, this fall is looking expensive for games - Heavenly Sword (PS3), Lair (PS3), Folk Lore (PS3), GTA IV (???), Eternal Sonata(X360), and Blue Dragon (X360). Of course Lost Odyssey is going to be awesome.
Not a big fan of the FPS genre, so probably no Halo 3 for me.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
