Lets see here, a franchise that sells over 10 million copies, a console that they can't keep on store shelves because of so much demand, a console where development costs are at least half that of other consoles, if R* doesn't have a team working on a GTA Wii game they needs to be bitch slapped. They can keep making GTA games on HD consoles, or even have one game ported onto all three, but you would have to be the stupid to keep on the biggest franchises off of the biggest selling system. It just makes no business sense. (and with their monetary woes lately at T2....)

Sooner or later a GTA Wii game will release. I mean it's only a smart decision for Rockstar considering mainstream game plus mainstream console equal gold haha.

But it may not be what we are expecting as who know if it'll be good or a cheap port/remake/spinoff.

I think the DS game is testing the waters. If it bombs, I don't think it's coming. Rockstar has stated clearly, almost explicitly that they do not like the Wii. Unless it's a clear sales slam dunk, they won't do it.

Well considering Rockstar was pretty content on producing it's main franchise on the weakest machine last gen. I see no reason why the Wii isn't viable. The Wii is filling PS2 shoes. The only reason GTA4 didn't go Wii early on is due to it's high cost, length of production. It's one game that could not easily shift gears mid development. They assumed PS3 would launch as king.

China Town Wars is just a warmup. I'm pretty sure we will see a GTA sandbox game for the Wii. Bully didn't do so well since it was already a PS2 game. Manhunt, never seemed to catch serious attention.

Wait are you arguing for or against it?  I don't know about you but it seems to me that creating controversy is exactly what they like to do.  If they can get some controversy going they can cut their advertising budgent in half and laugh as news outletts do the work for them.

I don't think controversy is something Nintendo is worried about considering they allowed Manhunt 2 on the console. However negative hype and government blocking killed anything that game had going for it. That and an unfinished product by Rockstar.

the problem would be that the game would be so edited it would be unreal.

why is it that when a ps3/360 game is rumored to come to the wii, ps3 fans are always the first ones to say no?
