Forums - Microsoft - My GTAIV rebirth.

I can't say it's like, my favorite game of all time, but it's definitely one of the best games I've played. I definitely think it deserved the scores it got, because it's an extremely well-made, huge and immersive game, with lots of stuff to do and to keep yourself busy with.

I got it on release, but I didn't play it more than for about an hour because I had lots of studying to do. About a month after graduation I picked it up and played almost every waking moment until I completed it. I still play sometimes, too.

Most people didn't really like GTAIV once the dust had settled. I found it to be just a jerky low frame rate buggy version of GTA3.

Well it was worse than that but, to sum it up in one sentence :)

Lost it's roots imo.

I assume that you played it on 360, because on the PS3 I did not have many issues.

GTA 3 had a rubbish targetting system, GTA IV was so much better than it, and Liberty City was just amazing

I have only seen the game running on the PS3, and I swear the frame rate dropped to around 10fps at one point (lots of cars, people running around, wierd physics). It looked like GTA3 in HiDef to me.

Have'nt touched my PS3 copy since I finished the story. There is barely any replayabilty afterthe story because the online just sucks.

@Burgles---I don't think you can really speak for "most people".

@Munkeh111---I'm not having any framerate issues on the 360. And have you forgotten all the problems this game had on the PS3?

What, install times?

Not install times (some people find that to be a problem and some don't), but the game freezing up on the PS3 version, especially on certain models.  The only fix for it right at first was pretty much to erase the cache files and saves and start the game all over.  It got fixed later, but a lot of people seemed to be pissed about it.
