European Xbox marketing boss David Gosen, in a presentation at Chelsea football club today reaffirmed the company’s intention to beat PS3 this generation in terms of sales.

Well then they should do it fast beacuse ps3 is soon above them.

They've done just about everything they can to sell consoles in EU. Lowered prices, has tons of games. I don't really know what else they can do with the exception of full XBL, Europe just seems to like the PS3 more then the 360.

Oh well.

I think Sony (and Playstation fans) will be shocked at the inroads that Xbox 360 will make into Europe in the coming years. It wouldn't be surprising to me to see Europe turn into another America for the Xbox brand next generation.

Microsoft seems to be geared more and more towards market share nowdays and this is a problem because Sony doesn't have the cash to compete as flexibly as Microsoft is able to through price cut's , promotions , game exclusivity etc.

Seems the playstation brand name is the only thing keeping the PS3 afloat right now , it's still a significant factor but Sony still need more than that.

Well anything can happen. MS buys more game studios and steals more PS3 exclusives. X360 may not outsell the PS3 in Europe but put up a close battle. Being outsold 2 to 1 in Europe is a lot closer than last generation when PS2 outsold the XBox: 15 to 1 in favour of the PS2 in consoles sales.
