Has there ever been a game like this on a console before?

If this doesn't sell then there is something wrong in the world :P

I expect most PS3 owners to buy this for some member of their family or themselves because it appeals to most people.

On a console?  No.  Not to my knowledge anyway.  There have been physics based level editors, and plenty of create you own content games...

but none focused on platfomers.

Very good read. I'm glad to hear that the levels that come in the game are exceptional, and I can't wait to try the editor out for myself.

This game reminds me of Nights into dreams... or at least I am thinking they will be similar. Good review scores, modest commercial success, fails to attract new customers to PS3, becomes a beloved cult classic, and rightly so. Or at least that is my guess.

I think the game will move alot of consoles over a period of time.

I am definately looking forward to this game. It just oozes fun.
