Ok I get it. bdbdbd, you really presented your position horribly until well into the second page. I do get what you're saying though, so let me explain it to everyone else, since you seem to be having trouble with it.
bdbdbd is not saying Nintendo's implementation of friend codes is superior to Xbox Live's Gamertag system. What he is saying is, it would be better if an Xbox 360 came installed with a numbered code that one could build Gamertags from instead of registering with Microsoft. Also however, bdbdbd remembers numbers better than names, and falsely assumed other people do too. On the contrary, most people are better at remembering name than numbers.
This is wrong though, and i'll tell you why bdbdbd. The reason you register with Microsoft for your account is so you can access it from multiple 360's. Say you were to sell your 360, you can still buy a new one and retrieve your information and pick up where you left off. With the Wii, if you sell it, you lose your friend code and need to start over if you rebuy, because it's built into the hardware. As far as I know, you also can't access your friend code from another Wii, but on Xbox 360(and PS3) you can. Nintendo is very anti-community with the Wii's online and it shows through statistics that were taken showing much higher adoption rates of 360's online than Wii's, even though the Wii has sold through more consoles and Xbox Live costs money.
