Bod, your amazing sense of humor is sadly underappreciated on these forums. I can't believe no one else got that. Thanks for brightening my day.

Yo. Just a newb passing through. Check out this 1st post!!!1!!
Gotta say, a year ago at E3 anyone saying the Wii would outsell the PS3 all over would have been laughed outta town, giant enemy crabs and all. Especially here in Europe, otherwise called SONYLAND. I feel the Europe delay hurt them majorly, as well as (IMHO) the majority of European gamers only care about the big names like MGS, FF but mostly GTA. I reckon GTA3 sold the PS2, I saw the effect it had myself. Who wanted Luigi's Mansion or Pikmin when you could play mature games, running over and killing people to an awesome soundtrack? No-one in Europe it seems. Or is that being blunt? How many bought a PS2 for late-on awesomeness like Shadow of the Collussus?
My point is, that if these uber-franchises (FF, MGS, GTA, GT) were available maybe 3-6 months after launch, then Sony would have a cash cow. Possibly on a par with Wii, damn the price difference. HD uptake will increase hugely in '08, and no doubt this will increase PS3/360 numbers while possibly being to the detriment of Wii. So the overall gradient of PS3 and 360 sales will increase a bit, slowly. But, I think the numbers show, it also depends on a major price cut.
In my 18 year history of gaming, the major platform has never been this hard to predict. So many people were convinced that the DS would die a swift death (dare I say "Gimmick"?) against the PSP and the might of Sony's software dominance. I doubt the gap between the PS3 and Wii will stay for long. Could be 6 months, but could be 3+ years. It's such a delicate situation at the moment.
I reckon by 2009 PS3 will lead, due to HD uptake, although it will never dominate like the PS2. The Wii's success depends on 3rd parties coming up with consistently cool ideas for the Wii remote.
Thoughts?
