Forums - General - Mexico whines as Texas executes a rapist and murderer

The justice system is in shambles and is not unlike that of the middle ages. If you commit the crime tyhe idea should be rehabilitation. Punishment which is what the justice system practices today is no more mature then little kids saying "but he did it first". The death penalty and fixed prison sentences without any form of rehabilitations is just a cheap and unfair way to console the victims families rather than help the offender reintegrate meaningfully.

Well said,he deserves that and maybe more punishment for this kind of crime.

Don't get unwrong guys, yes,we're mexicans but we can't tolerate this kind of crimes without an exemplary punishment.

Funny that some of the Mexico people complain when their own system is so corrupt. I think he deserved it...

I'm from Mexico and I'm really glad this murderer got punished

Well when the ICJ asks you to stall certain executions due to a breach of the prisoners rights (they have to be informed of their right to get aid from their consulate) it's pretty disappointing that they ignore it.

Mind you I think Texas is the most fucked up state for executions in the United States and is no better than say, China, in its record of executions.

I'm against execution on the whole to be honest, I don't think the state should have the right to take a life.

i honestly despise it when people say that execution is wrong. Execution has been a means to rid of unjustice for a long time. It brings fear to those who are about to commit such crime as rape and murder, and those who come to America(legal or illegal) are bound to the law of the country and of the Lord Almighty

Actually in a secular state (ie. America) they aren't bound by the law of the Lord Almighty so yeah. Also I have seen no conclusive studies stating that the capital punishment works as a deterrent against crime.

one kills criminals...one kills people they dont like(like teenagers that want democracy...who didnt even recieve a trial).

Just to be clear, you're willing to spend your tax dollars (more likely your parents) to help feed and clothe this man for the rest of his life because he murdered somebody?

I'm sorry, even if you are "sick" even if there is something wrong with you, once a killer, always a killer. Where is the justice in either A) Letting this man walk the streets again or B) Supporting him for the rest of his life in prison?

Where's your sense of morality there?

Edit: Oh, you're from New Zealand according to your profile. I think that takes away from your position.
