Forums - Sales - Prediction: $200 360 will outsell $400 PS3 and $250 Wii

lol give up.

The price drop in Europe caused no sales boost. I think in the US it will be the same. There is no way that the xbox will outsell the wii.

@Mike - You do NOT need to buy a memory card. Besides all else adding a bunch of stuff that may not be needed just to bump up the "price" is meaningless.

I have seen conflicting info about the internal memory. I was told there was none but found on the Xbox website that it is 256M -- so that is technically true. But given how fast the Wii fills up at twice that amount, downloads would be difficult, but the point is correct.

The other point was about what it would take for the full Xbox experience. There will be a cost for at least a cable if they want to hook it up to the internet -- while the Wii and PS3 have built-in wireless.  But if you are not going to go on-line, that is also moot.

Thus, I concede that the first point was somewhat wrong and the second point exaggerated. Still, I stand by my assertion that this is not that good of a value. I think the 60G at $300 would be a much better value and a much better seller.

(And while some have reported seeing 60G models on sale for $300, there is nothing heretofore to indicate that this is anything more than a sale on in error at this point as the official MSRP still seems to be $350).

i bet it will happen for a week or two but forth month nin will still win

@OP
I dont think you realize what you are saying. The Wii has been breaking all kinds of weekly and monthly sales in NA. To beleive that a price cut will magically cause the 360 Arcade to do the same is fallacy.

Here's some food for thought. Price drops are last ditch efforts. When nothing else works to drive demand, a company will drop the price. This is why Nintendo will not drop price, they don't want to raise demand since they can't meet it. So, despite the fact that 360 has a great line up going into the holiday season and new features that a great (netflix), demand hasnt increased. So hence a price drop.

MS's stradegy is to hope that the price drop effects the demand enough to make the attach rate of the holiday line-up very profitable. This stradegy may work, but it will never result in the hardware consistantly beating the Wii in NA.
