I'm no expert, since I don't play that much, but I'm pretty good.  Since I'm not great at memorizing complicated movesets I've only been able to play well as Siegfried.  From what I've seen playing online on my bro's name, though, most people suck anyways - I've beat people with 80+% records without too much trouble (these guys still fall for the easy combos).  I'd probably get owned against the experts, though.  I still haven't memorized all the characters, so it's hard to read some attacks (I haven't played much since SC2).

Special mode does sound great, I've always liked the ability to customize characters, since I'm good at math / maximizing in RPG's.  I haven't tried it yet online, though.  Still, one advantage to normal mode is you can customize the look of characters without worrying about the stats

actually, its in special mode that you have to worry about stats and skill points because they count. On normal, its purely cosmetic!

A win is a win.

So true...look forward to receiving a good beating!!

People always complain about noobs spamming the same attacks but the truth is, you're a pretty bad player  if an attack has been spammed over and over again and you couldn't defend against it!

You know. Spamming the same attack over and over will get you eaten alive by someone with sense. What bothers me however, is the plethora of people online that just pick a character like Maxi, then just mash buttons with obvious disregard to what the character can actually do. Its just not fun to play against, win or lose.

Best "spammer" I've ever seen was a Yoshimitsu (He hit the random button though). He literally kept stabbing himself because its obvious he was just mashing buttons and didn't have a clue what he was doing. He probably did more damage to himself then me. This is what annoys me.

Really win or lose I could care less. But I'd rather have a fun match and lose horribly to someone with a clue then watch someone spam randomly with no clue and beat them senseless.

The thing is, I barely ever even give people a chance to spam attacks. Once I start pressing, the fight is almost always over if I'm playing a noob so that kind of spamming doesn't work on me.
