Ivy has been totally overhauled. She's like a new character. Some of Mitsurugi's moves have been altered as well and his most useful unblockable attack was removed (the horizontal qcb square move that hits three times). Perhaps they thought it was cheap.

Yeah, the first two characters I went to play were Ivy and then Mitsurugi. Hopefully it's just a matter of finding the right abilities to link stances, because otherwise I will probably have to pick a new character to play as my main :( I was also disappointed that it seems her 'extend' ability doesn't have the option to drag left or right if someone is trying to sidestep/run at you. And the fact that its limited only to the loose extended stance, and you can't perform it with the sword in compact mode.

I don't mind normal.
Its just that I have a ridiculously powerful mitsurugi with no health or defense specially created to eliminate noobs without having to waste more than 30 seconds on lame fights lol.

I've met some badass Ivy users online. I say pick one character and master them before branching out. I think I'm almost at 100% Mitsurugi mastery. I have situations to use almost every move he has.

I'm a 360 player. I'm still training before I go online, though. I'm adding you to my PS3 friends list anyway, pristine20. You seem pretty cool.

I'm no expert, since I don't play that much, but I'm pretty good. Since I'm not great at memorizing complicated movesets I've only been able to play well as Siegfried. From what I've seen playing online on my bro's name, though, most people suck anyways - I've beat people with 80+% records without too much trouble (these guys still fall for the easy combos). I'd probably get owned against the experts, though. I still haven't memorized all the characters, so it's hard to read some attacks (I haven't played much since SC2).
Special mode does sound great, I've always liked the ability to customize characters, since I'm good at math / maximizing in RPG's. I haven't tried it yet online, though. Still, one advantage to normal mode is you can customize the look of characters without worrying about the stats
