I play the special versus mode due to having the ability to apply customizations and perks and I don't run away from ANY fight (except those at less than 4 pings), even with the #1 on the PS3 special vs boards (he added me as a friend after i beat him on our 1st meeting lol)

My special vs stats so far: 150+ wins/16 losses (my cousin cost me 3 of those while I was away at work!)

I haven't met that many good players of SCIV so I'd like to hear from more...

Don't play special mode. Too easy just pick a hit spamming character with soul draining and critical finish in moments.

If you want real challenges play the normal.

Its next to impossible to give me a critical finish. I'm such an offensive character its not even funny. Also, simple GI's, 8-way runs and throws tend to throw off hit spammers. I like the fact that your weapons and armor actually have meaning and you can customize more strength at the expense of hp and the like or vice versa in special mode in order words, you can build your character however you want...thats why I play it.

I still haven't got the game yet!!! Though I used to be quite good at Kilik, though any decent player would destroy me, as I am not a huge fan of the whole blocking thing

Just got the game. Pretty good with Maxi. Haven't played online yet...

I've had the game a week now but haven't had much time to play it. I'm really digging it, but I'm not sure I like the way they've organized Ivy's stances and abilities.

Ivy's my favorite character, but I think I'm missing a lot of crucial attacks that need to be fast + shift you into the correct stance for a good followup or range attack.... or they're just missing.

Ivy has been totally overhauled. She's like a new character. Some of Mitsurugi's moves have been altered as well and his most useful unblockable attack was removed (the horizontal qcb square move that hits three times). Perhaps they thought it was cheap.

If you have a ps3, we can play if we have a decent connection (4 or 5 bars)

Im pretty good...pretty good at getting my face bashed in...but Im no spammer / button masher...I like to act like I know what I'm doing at least.

I play a custom character based on Cervantes mostly, but will mix it up since its more fun that way.

Im on the east coast, and can get a 4 - 5 bar fight anywhere in N. America it seems.

I'll add you on PSN when I get home from work.

There's no such thing as a spammer. In SC, sometimes a simple triangle, triangle combo is necessary to stop the opponents attack and so it must be used. People who can't do anything more than that shouldn't be beating you if you know what you are doing.

Other than that, the simple rule is do whatever it takes to win. If you need an Astaroth/Nightmare/small stage/ring out combo to win, go for it. A win is a win. I was beaten with someone who used ring outs with Nightmare 3 times and I can't complain. I lost fair and square because I shouldn't have allowed it happen.
