What do you guys think about M$'s attempt to shed the tainted Vista image?  They video taped people trying out what they told them was a new OS and asked them to rate it.  They then told them that it was Vista.

It's just like the Pizza Hut commercials.... MS can't do anything original, can they?

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... What? They didn't know it was Vista? Even with the little Windows logo on the Start menu? @_@

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

LOL.  Or any of those soda commercials.  It reminds me of that Chris Farley sketch on SNL.  Columbian Coffee Crystals or something.

And they told them it was the next version of Windows so the logo would not give anything away.

Ahhh come on, just let them use it for a while, install some apps, hardware, drivers, just let them use it...

I like Vista....

Or, let them install SP1... I get an error every time I try, with all new hardware... POS OS

.....And Pizza Hut stole it from Carl's Jr (Hardees in the East)

:-p

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Vista problems have nothing to do with the features, although I did find it amusing that someone said "wow that is much faster". To which I can tell them with absolute certainty it won't be when they get it home. Vista uses more resources than XP, this is just a fact, its exactly why there are these stupid "Vista Ready" logos on laptops and premade Desktops, etc...The features themselves are fine, and they ought to be since most of them were stolen from OSX:

The real problems are with gaming where it has consistently been shown in Benchmarks to be slower than XP, especially when using DX10. There are also driver issues but that has been getting better slowly.

I'm willing to wait until they are serious about supporting a 64bit OS as the primary SKU before I upgrade to a new OS, plenty of folks on this site like Ben and myself have tried vista ourselves and I know Ben switched back where as I just formatted that drive and got rid of the dual boot (I just wanted to try it myself, didn't intend on keeping it). Keep in mind that most people are paying hundreds of dollars for Vista and then choosing not to use it (luckily I got a free copy from my school) thats where the horror stories came from to start with.

Of course when you have everything set up on a machine designed to run it smoothly in a controlled setting you might get a different result..but then is that so shocking?
