Forums - PC - Is it that time of the generation already?

Yeah, some nice games comin out, but for me, PC gaming is too expensive. I could have a Wii, Xbox360 and a PS3 for 950€ (1450 USD). I bought a nice PC two years ago and spent 1100€ (1700 USD) but today, it is kind of dated. Okay the former PC was crap, so I had to get a new one anyway, but buying a PC just for gaming is stupid IMO. The only exception will be Warcraft 4 for me. I think I will get a PC as soon WC4 is released, but Bthis won't happen before 2010 anyway.

Besides that, I barely have the time to play all Xbox 360 games coming out in the next couple of months.

You can build a gaming PC for 400 euros (around the same as PS3), that runs Crysis Warhead on High.... and any other game on High.

PC games are 10-40 euros cheaper than a PS3/360 game AND drop price much faster. If you buy 10 games on PC instead of PS3/360, you'll probably save 250 euros or so.

You need to pay 50$ every year for XBox Live Gold, so you can play online...

PC Gaming is cheaper than PS3/360 and maybe even Wii.

Could you give me a link where I can find a 400€ gaming PC with OS and completely ready to start? And I hate to create it by myself, it should be a complete system. didn't know, they are that cheap.

And I don't think the games listed above will have a 40€ difference to the console games. Sure after 6 months they will be cheap, but straight after the release, there will be a 10€ difference, but thats about it.

I look forward to not getting laid for a couple of months.

I can tell this will be a problem for a lot of people. Time to change the hours per day to 32 hours.

If you melt the ice on the poles of the earth the rotation of our planet would slow down and that'll mean longer days, anyone interested?

^ Well, you'll have to make it by yourself to get it for 400 Euros....If you buy from a brand (Dell, HP, etc..), it might cost thousands of dollars...

You definitely have to build it yourself if you want it cheap.

If you really think it's that hard to build one (it's not...you basically just snap all the pieces together...only one way possible), there are custom PC sellers, but those will cost you a few hundred euros more I'm sure, and I don't know Europe's sellers.

I'd really just recommend doing a little bit of research about building your own...it's not that hard, it saves you TONS of money, and your result is a gaming PC head and shoulders above any console.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Cool, I always consider it that time of the generation though that the PC is better but I guess it is reaching the time where the PC gets media attention.

PC Gamer

My PC is actually a server on the inside with an on screen OS, but I can still access it's server functionality on the same machines hyper terminal, of course I didn't put it together. ^_^ My ex-gf made if for me a few years ago.

In fact the only reason I know anything about PC is because she's a huge techy, she actually made the computer out of parts she acquired through a series of computer fairs.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Keep in there are much more releases than the 20 I mentioned above, so the list may be subject to changes. There are still several games I did not include, like:

...

Drakensang: The Dark Eye

....

This was one of the biggest releases this year in Germany (out here since 4 days). The release of Drakensang and the public attention it got (already months prior to release) reminded me of how huge PC gaming still is in my country in comparison to console gaming.

Shio's list (thank you, btw) makes me consider buying a PC again or a laptop just for gaming. Right now I'm a Mac only user, but the Indian Summer of high quality point&click adventures plus Spore and Colonization is enough to intrigue me.

Or maybe I upgrade from Tiger to Leopard to be able to play Spore on my Mac, but then I won't be able to play most of the upcoming p&c adventures...decisions, decisions...

@okr

what are the impressions given so far of Drakensang by reviewers/gamers?

it is one of the games I want to add to the list, but I have doubts about it holding up. I know there is a demo, but it's in german, so...
