^^^ Two territories is better than 1 right?

The DS still sells the most software and its hardware sales are comparable considering its reached the saturation point. The DS gets the majority of the 3rd party support in Japan. One only needs to look at the releases each week to see that. I agree though that a redesign is needed in Japan, mainly to take some of the steam out of the psp's sales. The generation was won by the DS a long time ago though and even if the psp continues to outsell the DS by the end of the gen the DS will have significantly beaten it despite the psp's resurgence.

DS is dying because it doesn't sell 10 times more than everything else.

DS lite is still quite nice even if it's an "ancient" 06 model.

I think a price cut and more first party support can help, other than that after this Xmas we should see if the DS can still sell as much or sell less than the PSP before saying its dead.Anyway DS still sold more software though.

Just take a look at the top 40 in the UK.

DS: 17
PSP: 0

Now tell me why it needs a price cut right now?

For the week of August 2nd 2008 in Europe:

DS 292,519

Is not dead and is one of the alivest game mchines EVER.

This is more about its slowdown in sales in Japan then the rest of the world. But then again hitting saturation point will do that to a console.

Well, I think the DS is still doing fine. I don't see the need for a redesign yet, maybe in a few years. The only thing they could do is maybe drop the price a little, but that's it. Though it doesn't need the price drop yet either because it's still selling good.
