Forums - Sony - Final fantasy versus

Since they first start off by developing for the PS3 in mind (In Main FF's case) and than afterwards port it to the 360.

How is that in anyway limiting PS3 potential?

For Versus, IF they were to make it multi, would probaly follow a similar path.

As for the exclusivity, that's up to Square Enix.

SE is going to do it this way, because they can afford to do it this way. Some Devs may not be able to expend the time and resources to make one game completely optimized for a console, then port it and hope to do it all over again for another.

Also, some Devs might just be more focused by profit rather then the ambition to make the best game possible on a certain system.

According to fanboys its better because its an exclusive. So if it does go to the 360 it will suck because thats fanboy logic.

Fanboyism aside.

The best games this generation are exclusives. As stats has mentioned, exclusives are usually of higher quality.

Assuming Versus stays exclusive, losing exclusivity of FFXIII may not impact the ps3 that much.  Square has stated multiple times that BOTH titles are the core of the FFXIII universe, and Versus is being made by the KH/TWEWY team, so the game will be excellent (possibly even better than FFXIII), and should sell around as much as FFXIII on the ps3.  Any major FF fan (or anyone who'd buy a system primarily for FF) should in theory still buy a ps3 for Versus.

The only variable is how long after FFXIII Versus comes out.  If it comes out well over a year later, it's significance will be lessened greatly, imo.

FF XIII Versus is PS3 exclusive. woohoo. I will rather play FF XIII Versus than FF XIII.

i thnk i am going to like FFVXIII a lot more then FFXIII.

anyway like i have said many times before, any third party exclusive is always a 3rd party multi-plat to me now, untill the games is already released

Yeah, but FF XIII will sell much, much better than Versus.

Oh really now? I don't think so, if its exclusive to one console, more people will buy it for that console. It may be no Halo, but last time I checked, Xbox 360 was higher in the FPS genre and not much of the RPG category. While Sony in Japan and many who played PS and PS2 love the RPG's.

With that in mind, those who played FFXIII and loved it may even switch over and buy Versus too. And oh yeah, Versus is more badass than FFXIII.
