Boom Blox and Imagine fits the children games description as well.

EA's marketing has us thinking its games are children's games. Boom Blox could be disruptive if it were properly positioned.

As for Ubisoft's Imagine series, it is somewhere between old and new. There have always been a few girl games (Strawberry Shortcake on the Atari 2600 started the trend). But an entire series of simulations marketed toward tween girls is a bit of a market expansion -- and apparently a money maker.

PS -- If you have not watched the video linked at the end of the E3 blog, it is well worth it. I love the pot-shot at Peters and Waterman (In Search of Excellence).

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
