You should just buy one ![]()

^_^
If you are going to go down the Linux road, let me suggest you download Yellow Dog. 6.0 is set up to specifically work with the PS3 and you'll have a lot less headaches. There is a full install walk-through on terrasofts website for configuring it.
I'm probably going to get a bigger hard drive first -- a couple hundred gigs or more -- before I install Yellow Dog.
I also found out that I can transfer my save datas on any USB device. I saved my MGS 4 data that way. It's a pretty interesting feature, but then again not that very useful unless you change HDD.
@ kn: Thanks. I'll check that out ASAP!
Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
On the Yellow Dog... they sell it, but you can download it free from a mirror. As long as you have a DVD burner, you are good to go...

When you buy it, you pay for support, and that sort of thing.

Yeah, I'm aware of what you get when you pay for it. I applaud Terrasoft for working in the open source world. But, YD6 is, in fact, open source, and is free if you want it. It's not piracy.
Glad it was (mostly) a good experience. I was stuck between the 360 and PS3 for a long while. I didn't make the choice for two reasons. RROD, I'm an unlucky guy. It would have happened to me. I also wanted to know the results of the BD, HDD war. Once that was over it was a pretty easy choice and i am in love with my PS3. The only regret? my PC is old so now i will never know the joy of Mass Effect.
assumption is the mother of all f**k ups
For real when I first got the PS3 I HATED the install times and system updates. I always had Nintendo consoles so I guess I was a little spoiled. But that feeling didn't last long as time goes on there's less updates and stuff you have to set up become less prevalent. But yeah when you get a big shiny expensive system like that you just want to PLAY it right away.
The install is quite annoying if you dl a full game like siren. It has 12 episodes and all of them have to be installed! Also, I'd rather have a 10 gb mgs4 install ONCE than have to install every act but thats just me lol.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
I have to disagree on the quality of Act 5. I expected it to be cut-scene heavy, but i didnt realise just how cut scene heavy it would be.
After you get past the frogs and gekkos, you've pretty much done, save for that rubbish boss fight.
Pffft
