Nintendo do not have anyting great in 2008 and hasn't anouced anyting good in the future right now wii is dead in game releasses i don't know why people are buying a lot of wii's.

I don't think your wrong but the thing that worries me is that they will be a glut of quality first party and third party titles next year that might cannibalize each others sales mostly first party eating third party sales.If you look you have Spyborgs,Monster Hunter 3,The Conduit, Madworld, and Tenchu IV(for america and europe.) all coming out the first half of the year . We know Wii resort is definitely coming and probably the delayed disaster day also and other presumably delaayed games(Monolith rpg for wii,and rumored KI) will show a first half released dates as well.

Wouldn't nintendo want to space out titles to maximize sells.

I don't fully buy that Motion Plus argument. It would be totally possible for them to release at least 1 big title aimed at the core gamers this holiday season. It's fair enough if Motion Plus is the future of Wii games and it ends up being built into the Remote as standard, but what about the months from now until that happens? The longer it drags on, the more the Wii gets a reputation as the "kiddie console" whether deserved or otherwise.

Also, assuming your theory is true, it would help a lot if Nintendo didn't play their cards so close to their chest. Give me a hint of whats coming up and I might stick around and wait, but as it stands now I'm considering ditching my Wii on eBay at Christmas and I bet I'm not alone.

Man why do we need to keep hearing this rubbish? Did Sony need 1st party titles to be considered great? actually how many first title games did Sony actually make in PS1?  You need to grow up a little and learn that games are more than violence and that there is this thing called third party.

You have one person making a comment about the Wii being a kiddie system whose profile shows core-centric Wii games, including an M-rated title.

You have anothe person who makes comments about the Wii being dead because of no first-party games coming out (a falsehood, though much less than normal are coming out) -- even though other consoles are not held to that standard. (And when Nintendo pushed out first-party games, then the line is that the Wii is bad for third parties).

On topic -- the hypothesis put forth in the OP is interesting and plausible. Nintendo is holding titles for Wii MCP. The next Mario and Zelda titles will probably use this. And in 18 months, we will all laugh about this time.

I kinda figured they are waiting to implement motion+ on their big titles as well. Animal crosssing, wii music, wario don't really need it, but i could imagine something like zelda would.

As for kid icarus, forget about it, never gonna happen.

Been thinking the same thing about MotionPlus, but there's also the fact that they've already released a few HUGE titles this year and that AC and WM are both going to be massive as well. Oh, and they don't need to do anything to sell consoles. And there are more 3rd party titles this holiday than the last two. And their software has long legs, so games that were available last Christmas are going to push high numbers. And the competition isn't doing one damned thing to actually fight Nintendo's dominance. And...
