Forums - Nintendo - Is it now time to buy Wiis?

I would say that by doing that, you're hurting both the gaming business and fellow gamers. The former because Wiis sitting at your home aren't causing any software to get sold, and the latter because people can't buy Wiis and then have to pay more than they otherwise would have.

Frankly, I think scalping is a form of parasitism. It's perfectly legal as far as I know, just not very ethical IMO.

Not everyone has the same ethics as you. If you think it's wrong, don't do it, but don't try to guilt trip others into subscribing to your ethical code. It's basic supply and demand. If Nintendo are incapable of setting a price where supply and demand balance out then the free market will sort it out and adjust the price upwards as that's what people are willing to pay.

@llewdebkram £2000?! Nice job!

@ferret1603: I was just giving my opinion, I'm not trying to restrict anyone's freedom here.

I don't think saying someone has a different ethical code is a very good defense/retort. There's been some other people with different ethical codes, you know. Secondly, if the person in question has a different code someone else isn't going to MAKE them feel guilty. Guilt could be the result, but that would be due to some inner insecurity or perhaps would signify that they actually think it is ethically wrong.

One might argue it was a risk to buy so many Wiis and the risk was rewarded. It might not always be so.
