Gears isn't supposed to be realistic. It's not a cookie cutter shooter like Killzone. It's a mascot shooter, while KZ is a generic but really cool looking shooter. 

While Gears2 is technically superior, KZ2 looks more realistic. It's like comparing Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 back in the day...

But KZ2 is no HL2, so my vote goes to Gears2 ^_^

I like the environments and explosions in KZ2, but those enemy characters are a polygon-fest.

Gears 2 is more to my liking with the nice graphics and huge environments this time round.

Killzone 2 with textures that don't look like jelly and great lighting and facial animations. But what matters most is gameplay.

One important thing that I think people are missing here: Guerrilla Games is a wholly owned first party developer for Sony is it not? Epic is wholly third party. It is amazing to me that we are comparing a first and third party game. You read into that what you want.

Killzone 2 looks great, and gears 2 looks great. Considering the viewpoints for your playable characters are different (through the eyes and over the shoulder) its not really that fair a comparison as depth of field will differ for each game

for me is killzone 2,

its the only games in ages to be compared to CGI graphics

saying no console this generation would be able to push those graphics, but the ps3 did.

but i still love the texture work of metal gear solid 4 more.
ACT 5 is perfect, was having a hard time finding a not so polish texture

i think Killzone 2 is the best looking game to come to any console. but i have never playe the game myself nor have i played Gears 2.

So i think i will give my final decision after playing both games or seeing both games in action just a little bit more, but from what i have seen so far

Killzone 2 then gears of war 2. Killzone just looks alot better from the footage that has been shown at the moment
