Everyone is excited because this is finally 100% proof that there IS water on mars, and at least some of the ice at the poles is water ice. The lander has also discovered that the soil there has the necessary chemicals to support life. "Anyhow, could any celled organisms exist in an area soaked in UV rays at all?" Many signs (running water, etc) point to the idea that mars had a much more substantial atmosphere earlier in its life (that would block UV rays) that somehow dissipated. |
Perhaps, but the impression I got form my class was like fidning a dead man with a bullet in his head and a gun in his hand with a round discharged (which matches the bullet). While we may not have seen the bullet going into his head, we certainly wouldn't entertain any other possible explanation for the bullet's presence (that it was fired into it, pardon the rough analogy).
I was actually referring to any present life on Mars, sorry.

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made. I won't open my unworthy mouth.
not much of a chance, we have much more chance on other bodies in the solar system. Mostly moons
