Has anyone else played this WiiWare title? What did you guys think of it?

I've only played the first 3 levels so far. It seems pretty easy. I'm using the Wii Zapper as my control method. Each level in the game consists of three different challenges and your score for a level accumulates over the three challenges. There are some reused challenges (bandits on a train, in a graveyard, in a bar, etc.). None of the challenges so far have required me to reload, but one of them had me clear smoke away with the analogue stick.

All of the challenges have very similar gameplay, in that they all have the same combo system (successive shots without a miss) and most of them have good/bad targets mixed in with one another. The combo system is crazy. The number of shots you've gotten in a row is a multiplier for your score for each shot. I can see that allowing a lot of headroom for insanely high scores. Couple that with the fact that through experimentation, I found that a lot of background elements (vultures, meer cats) are shootable and give points, and you've got a game with a lot of replayability.

I got a silver medal for level 1, then gold for 2 and 3. The achievements menu item is interesting. I had a quick browse through it. From memory, it had completion status for various aspects of the game and bonus content of some sort (like medals or trophies or something). I don't know. It was just a quick browse. I'll have to check it out again tomorrow.

All in all, it's about what I've come to expect from Gameloft. Their games are never "great". This is definitely one of their better titles though. It's up there with TV Show King and above the likes of Block Breaker Deluxe.

Around the Network

Never played it but it sound alot like some games for the NES that played with the gun. Loved those game even if the gun pretty much only worked on my tv if I put it less than 1cm away from the screen, still, better than the bazooka. Maybe ill give it a shot for nostalgia sake(and to play it with a decent controller).
