I agree with Gears 2> Gears > Resistance 2 just on install base numbers. Gears 2 is THE title for 360 this holiday and will sell well amidst huge promotional push. You better believe you'll be seeing a ton of Emergence Day 2 hype coming soon. Microsoft is going to shove that one down all our throats.

Resistance looks good, and I will buy it because I liked the first and I get most of the big shooters on both platforms, but to me it looks a lot like every other shooter. I'll likely skip Gears myself as I really totally whole-heartedly despise the first one - all flash no substance - and I don't like third-person at all. But I would bet my friends list will be loaded with Gears 2 players day one.

Gears 2 will outsell Gears 1 and Resistance... It is pretty simple. It is a North American style game and the 360 install base has grown a ton since Gears 1 and PS3 isn't even close in the territory.

Gears 2 will outsell Gears 1, the hype alone will take care of that, Resistance 2 should outsell Resistance 1 due to the higher user base, Gears 2 should sell alot more than Resistance 2 though

I think you have the numbers wrong, when Epic announced their game had sold 5mil, Insomniac announced their game had sold 3mil.

I will purchase both games because they both look terrific. I predict that Gears 2 will outsell Gears, and that Gears 2 will outsell Resistance 2.
