Forums - Microsoft - Forza 2 errors

Hi All,

I've recently read some messages about the Forza 2 game disc causing the XBox to freeze / hang, and those messages keep piling up.
Can anybody tell me honoustly whether this only happens to old XBoxes (old laser element), or to new Xboxes as well ?

And are there any other games besides  Forza 2 that causes the same symptoms ?

 I'm curious ...

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion completely destroyed my 360. The system was nearly unusuable after, so I had to send it back in for repairs.

Are you sure this has to do with the game? I have Oblivion on PC and 360, got the 360 one when Shivering Isles came out, but haven't played it much. Now I'm worried of playing it lol

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Do you even own a 360?  I just looked and you've only posted twice and both were about hardware problems.  Are you thinking about getting Forza 2 because otherwise why do you care and why are you curious?

Try forza's own forums, it's got a userbase of like > 50k. We're like maybe four forza 2 users on this site. For the record, no freezes here.

Never heard of F2 or Shivering Isles issues.

The only issue I had with SI was that I had to have the 1.2 patch to play it. Outside of that, no problems since I got my new refurb 360.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Heard about the Forza2 issues, check their forums for better info.

There's a new article about this.

"According to Game Rush on zoomshare.com there has been an effort to conceal well over 900 replies from gamers who have made claims of Forza Motorsport 2 crashing on the Xbox 360.

These replies were on the official Forzamotorsport.net forums, some are even going as far to call this a cover-up and gamers are also getting very angry.

Game Rush also went on to say that Microsoft has deleted the long thread that talks about the Forza Motorsport 2 crashing problems.

I can understand why Microsoft would not want this kind of attention, but deleting what everyone is talking about will only fuel the fire.

Now some Xbox 360 gamers are expressing frustration, anger and disappointment.

Is this just an isolated problem or are the Forza Motorsport 2 crashing problems more widespread?

I have not had any problems with my game yet."

wow, this could be very bad for 360.

Um, no. Have you even followed 360 games since inception? Every few weeks, a big game that sells well comes out, and we always get reports of Jonny or Jill Smith having the games crash. This goes back as far as Ghost Recon 1.

Perfect Dark bricked my first 360. Does that mean that PDZ is a faulty game? No. I just played my 360 too much. I had played PDZ almost 6 months before I played it when it died.

Again, if a game sells 200k+ copies first week, there are bound to be a few issues to where it can cause an issue. Outside of VGC, I never heard of an issue. I am sure if there is one, Turn10 will get it dealt with, as every other issue between GRAW, Dead Rising and the rest always got dealt with, and I've never heard of anymore "GRAW/Dead Rising bricked my 360" posts within quite some time.

"...is a faulty game? No. I just played my 360 too much."

Are you actually making the excuse for 360 that you played it too much and that is why it broke. It doesn't matter how many units are sold of a particular game, the machine should do its job and give you unlimited entertainment.

C'mon sticky you are not that kind of fanboy are u?

The point still stands. Why is MS and other deleting all of these reports of crashes when playing the latest games. Its not so much that game x broke it, but that it broke and MS is deleting user records of it happening.
