Nintendo has always been really good about introducing generations to gaming. I think they are doing a better job at gaining fans and keeping them this generation though.

yahh they really are pleasing their hardcore gamers.

wii music, sure beats a new Metroid game.

Enough of the trolling Hus.  If you can't add a comment without baiting other users then don't bother posting at all.  This is your one warning, from here on out you will be serving bans for trolling.  You may have recieved amnesty but that doesn't mean you have immunity.

Justice!

I didn't reprimand Hus for your entertainment or mocking pleasure.  All your comment does is breed more animosity and annoyance.  When people are warned your best bet is to just ignore the situation and let the mods handle it.

nice,,this is not just some random guy in sony. This is the president of gaming division(replacement of Phil Harrison)

If so I think this is very good news. This guys attitude is very good for the company in my opinion, in order to do what you do better you need to look at what your competitors do well (only person who gets away with not doing it is Miyamoto and lets face it, he's unique). I get the feeling this guy will be very good for Sony because he seems for humble and realistic which is a nice change from the arrogance we saw early this generation.

ofcourse working on lower budget productions is less stressing for the devs (lower sales expectations, no absolute pressure to succeed) and in smaller scale games there is far less bugs to fix, which must be the most annoying part of developing a game

but I guess there is a lot more feeling of achivement to be gained in high budget production, when you manage to put out a game which has all the bells and whistles you dreamed of in the planing stage and is widley accepted among reviewers and gamers (and ofcourse a financial success)

btw, nice to see the new guy is a very respectable and honest man, just like Phil was..

I hope Shu is good enough at english to replace Jack Tretton as the speaker in big press events, for I don't like his style of presentations

I wonder if this is why we see such oddball titles on PSN?

Note this is not a bad thing at all - honestly much of the entertainment I get from my PS3 is the rather unique titles that populate PSN. Same with the PSP, stuff like Loco Roco, Patapon, Echochrome, Flow. I eat that stuff up, I got almost all of em (only missing Pixel Junk Eden right now).

I also feel that -without any doubt- these games are the differentation between the HD consoles. Don't get me wrong, the Xbox 360 has nice stuff on XBLA. But then there is Sony which regularly puts games on the PSP/PSN that feel as if they're from a different world altogether :P

Respect!

Sony needs more people like this guy. You can still promote your product without sounding like a pompous, arrogant $%&^. If the PR people spoke with the same tune, PS3 would be doing much better now.

If I was a Sony executive I would never say a good word about the opposition companies.

You are really setting yourself up on this one.

If I was the top boss of Sony and some other manager's praised the opposition I would warn them nicely first time. Second time tell them- last chance buddy. Third time give them the sack. Praising the opposition is a no no in my books. Lift up your company by talking the talk and trash talk the opposition. Business is business.

I mostly agree.  I might say that I'm currently playing and say something positive.  It  gets the fans to think I might be working on something.

But never about their larger business model.

How I would spin it? Something like this:

"Nintendo has gotten people excited about a product, but has failed to lay out a long term vision of what they intend to provide for there console owners or what shareholders can expect.  The track record so far hasn't shown much hope for giving core gamers and technophiles what they want.

Casual gamers have to be motivated to become lifetime gamers, requiring more mature software like Little Big Planet and Echochrome.  Games that can be a lighter experience for the core and more involved experience for the new gamers.  Innovation and disruption are good but they need to be focused on providing positive change and building a brand."

And once again, I want to remind every one that I am a Nintendo fan.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

They would still get eaten up for that comment steven787. All acknowledging other companies success does is improve Sony's image. People don't want to the console of a company they hate.
