Forums - Gaming - Virtua fighter? or Tekken?

Can't say I've played much of the Virtua Fighter series, I owned 4 for a couple years but eventually sold it. I can understand why people liked it, it appears to take a fair bit of skill. But there's a different kind of skill with Tekken, in my opinion anyway, where it comes from knowing moves and being able to beat button mashers. Besides the aspect of skill though, I didn't really care for any characters in VF and I find the plot of the Tekken series and the character backgrounds of those characters more appealing.
I still wanna play Virtua Fighter 5 again some day though, and see if I can build up some skill.
So, I choose Tekken.

Indeed he did.

Thanks, no way i'll buy that game ever now ....

Virtua Fighter is a more hardcore fighter game. Tekken is a more casual fighting game.

Tekken is too easy. VF is the better and harder game.

Hmm. I prefer the fight system of Tekken ( button per limb) but VF is just technical on another level thats a bit off putting for sum. If you could put ur created character on a memory stick and take it to your friends house for matches it would be in my Playstation all the time. However the PS3 version didnt allow it. I love both.

Ynwa.

I Say Tekken owns Virtua by leaps and bounds.

Storyline: Tekken
Gameplay:Tekken
Graphics:Tekken
Characters:Tekken

Everything is distinguishable in Tekken from characters to storyline, to moveset. They cover far more fighting styles and are far more realistic. Virtua Fighter is like that great secondary fighter that is generic in almost all aspects. Granted that Virtua Fighter is the most technical fighter and I love using it to shut other fighting game fans up when I play against them, but it's not as fun as Tekken. Tekken if you use it correctly can be extremely technical.

Tekken 5 DR is the best so far and Tekken 6 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tekken 5 DR. The series is on the rise. ( 4 was terrible and i think people who disliked it didnt give 5 a chance)

most tekken fans agree that tekken 3 is the best...... so in other words its had 2 bad sequals

Virtua fighter 5 is better than 4..... Virtua fighter 5 is back on the rise

And lets not forget fighters megamix ( VF characters vs Fighting vipers characters, go see the scores for Fighters megamix...... awesome, only sold bad because it was on the sega saturn r.i.p.)

Tekken has way more dept than virtua fighter and it's also far more accessible

Don't ever say a noob can beat a master at tekken. When i play with someone, i have to let them get attacks on me because frankly, i can woop their ass on perfect nomatter what char they chooses. It's just that people have an easier time getting to know tekken because of the first impression easy fighting system. The fact is there are more than 100 combos with each char. Even after playing all tekken games you can still find a new move or attack you previously haven't in it because of the dept.

so in conclusion...

Any Tekken > Any Virtua Fighter

One last thing. Heavenly Sword IS EPIC. Don't say otherwise if you haven't played through it. It's a very cinematic and story driven game, but it's also among the top games this gen.

Check out my game about moles ^

Virtua Fighter for me.

Tekken is better,

Tekken is the best fighter out there except for SF2 and I guess SF4 when it comes out :D
